Estimating BAC (Blood Alcohol Content)

You can use the following charts to estimate a customer’s BAC and know when they are possibly influenced, impaired, or intoxicated. These charts are only examples and were developed by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

One drink is based on:
1.5 oz of 80 proof liquor (40%),
12 oz. beer (4.5%),
or 5 oz. wine (12%).

The figures are averages and may vary
based on the amount of food in the stomach.


NOTE: At a BAC of 0.40% a person may
become comatose and will be in danger of dying.
